Test Items

In this downloadable Acrobat (PDF) file, you have available test items correlated to objectives in the text. These items are often parallel to chapter exercises, so it is possible to provide students with both the objectives and in-class practice and discussion, either in a practice exam format or just as class activities. We have found that students taking exams which on the one hand assess their learning of objectives which they were made aware of and for which they had in-class practice and feedback, and which on the other hand remained challenging exams, has given students a new appreciation for the potential contribution to the quality of learning from carefully designed instruction and assessment that are highly congruent.

There are more than enough items for a good mid term and a good second or final exam in this set of test times.

For your convenience, a keyed version is supplied in a separate file. On essay items, especially, you should at most just look at what we wrote as "key"--your own model answers or other guidance in scoring will likely be better for you than ours.
